Armed bandits stormed Ugya village, a community in Toto local government area of Nasarawa State – and wrecked havoc in the area. Over 20 people were reportedly killed and many other others injured in a communal clash that erupted on Tuesday between the Ebira and Bassa ethnic groups.
It was alleged that the bandits came in with over 30 motorcycles with 3 persons each to the area as they attacked the community.
The hoodlums reportedly surrendered to military men who were on operation free Ugya from terrorism – after a fire fight.
Some of these motorcycles have been seized by the joint military forces operating in the area.
The community is now under the control of the Nigeria military, according to reports..
